A brewery turned cultural hub
Awesome Black ran the weekend with Brookvale Arts District and 7th Day Brewery, with support from the Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner. The brewery had live music every night. We filmed sets from Dobby, Isaac Compton and Tjaka, with Elina, Bow and Arrow and Lemonise also on the bill.
On the walls, Posters with Power showed large-scale works by Solid Lines artists Jade Goodwin, Jeswri, Dylan Finney and K-Rae, with augmented reality layers that came alive on a phone. Bush to Bowl brought native-infused beers and margarita salts, and ran bush food workshops through the weekend.
We also covered the smaller sessions, Beer and Weave with Ella Havelka and Paint and Sip with Jade Goodwin, where people sat close and made things with their hands. A limited-edition Awesome Black x 7th Day beer gave $1 a pint to The Ella Foundation and the Awesome Black Foundation.
